Privacy Policy

PlainFunnel is a small independent publisher. We collect as little as possible, we don't sell anything about you, and this page explains exactly what happens to the data we do handle.

What you give us

  • Your email address, and your first name if you enter one — when you submit a signup form. We also record which page the signup came from, so we know which guides are actually useful.
  • Anything you write in the contact form — your message, and the email address you want a reply sent to.

What we collect automatically

  • Your IP address, briefly, on form submissions. It is used to rate-limit signups and to run an anti-spam check, then it is discarded. We do not store it alongside your subscription or use it to build a profile.
  • Keyword searches. When you use the keyword tool we store the search text itself so we can see what people are looking for. It is stored on its own, with nothing identifying who searched.
  • Usage analytics — only if you agree to it. If you accept analytics, we record which pages you view and which buttons and tools you use, so we can tell what's actually useful. If you decline, or simply never answer, none of it runs. See Analytics and cookies below.
  • Campaign parameters from your landing page. If you arrive from a link carrying utm_ tags, we keep them for the duration of your visit so we know which channel sent you. They are stored in your browser for that session only and are never sent anywhere unless you accepted analytics.

What we don't collect

  • Payment details — ever. Purchases are handled entirely by Gumroad on their own checkout. Card numbers and billing details never reach this site.
  • Anything you type into the profit calculator. That tool runs entirely in your browser. Your prices, traffic and income figures are never sent to us and never leave your device.
  • Accounts or passwords. There is nothing to sign into.
  • Advertising trackers. None, ever. We don't run ad pixels, we don't build advertising audiences, and we don't share anything with ad networks.

Analytics and cookies

We use one privacy-respecting analytics tool, PostHog, to understand which articles and tools people actually find useful. It does not run until you accept it, and declining leaves the whole site working normally. We never send it your email address, your name, or anything you type into a form — including the figures you enter into the calculator, which never leave your browser at all.

Besides that, the only other thing stored in your browser is the anti-spam check on our forms, provided by Cloudflare, which is necessary to confirm you're not a bot and cannot be switched off without breaking the forms.

Your analytics choice

You haven't chosen yet, so analytics is off.

You can change your mind here at any time, as often as you like.

Why we use it

To send you the content you asked for and occasional related emails, to reply when you contact us, to keep spam and automated signups off the site, and to understand which articles and tools are worth writing more of. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Who processes it

We use a small number of established services to run the site. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:

  • Kit (ConvertKit) — stores the email list and sends every email you receive from us.
  • Supabase — our own database, holding a copy of subscriber records and the keyword searches described above.
  • Cloudflare — the anti-spam check on our forms.
  • Web3Forms — delivers contact-form messages to our inbox.
  • Zoho Mail — hosts the mailbox those messages arrive in.
  • PostHog — usage analytics, and only if you accepted it.
  • Vercel — hosts the site and serves its pages.
  • Gumroad — runs checkout and is the seller of record for our products. Their privacy policy governs what happens at checkout.

How long we keep it

We keep your subscription for as long as you want to receive emails. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we remove it from our list and our database. Contact-form messages stay in our inbox as ordinary correspondence.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. No reason needed, and no attempt to talk you out of it.
  • Ask what we hold on you, and we'll tell you.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it, and we will.

We honour these requests for everyone who asks, wherever you live, rather than only where a particular law requires it. Email us and we'll action it.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the record.

Changes

If we change what we collect or who processes it, we update this page to match. We don't make changes retroactively — data collected under an earlier version is treated under the terms you signed up with.

Contact

Questions about your data, or want it removed? Email hello@plainfunnel.com or use the contact form. A real person reads it.

We'd like to measure which pages and tools are actually useful. It's one privacy-respecting analytics tool, no advertising trackers, and we never send it your email address. Read the privacy policy.
